Sunrising
My largest work to date, Sunrising is an exploration of the light and color the sun brings to the marsh as it slowly crawls up from the horizon.
Morning light dances across the water as the rising tide spills into the marsh. The sun climbs above the horizon; the day unfolds with quiet hope and endless possibility.
The world feels still, yet full of promise. This is “Sunrising”.
“Sunrising” is my “first”. My first oil painting, the first work installed in my very first studio space, the first painting I have sold.
It’s currently on loan to me for exhibition purposes, but this piece is aptly named “Sunrising” as it is a piece that holds so much weight (and potential) for my career as a studio artist.
